Wednesday’s Eagle Farm Double
Patinack Farm-owned mare Dreams And Wishes (4 m Galileo – Procrastinate, by Jade Hunter) enhanced her already considerable value when she became the latest winner for the outstanding producer Procrastinate (Jade Hunter – Reigntaine, by Century) with her success at Wednesday’s Eagle Farm meeting.
The four-year-old won the Lyndhurst Stud Plate (1600m) at her fourth start to open her account after costing $725,000 at the 2009 Inglis Australian Yearling Sale in Sydney and part of a winning double on the day for the Patinack Stable.
Dreams And Wishes became the seventh individual winner for Procrastinate, who has thrown four individual stakes winners, including the multiple Group 1 winner Laisserfaire (Danehill), who was the Champion Older Female Sprinter in South Africa in 2001 and 2002.
Dreams And Wishes is a sister to Personify while Procrastinate also produced Listed winners and young sires Foreplay (Danehill) and Time Thief (Redoute’s Choice).
Procrastinate herself was a Group 3 winner as well as being a half-sister to Galapagos Girl (Dehere) and Kampaign (Kampala), who both notched stakes successes during their racing days.
Another daughter of Procrastinate is Trephina (Last Tycoon) who has foaled two stakes winners of her own, the Group 2 winner Centennial Park (Thorn Park) and Group 3 victor Ballack (Montjeu).
Patinack Farm had further success at Eagle Farm when Pear Tart (3 f Dehere – Tangerine Dream, by Sadler’s Wells) took out the Sky Racing Handicap (1200m). Patinack Farm paid $45,000 for the three-year-old filly at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
