Patinack Farm runners were in good form on Saturday with a treble at Eagle Farm. Just Been Lucky, Miss Cutie and Shamardashing came home clear in their respective races to continue the excellent start to the new Queensland team headed up by stable foreman Brett Killion.

All three winners were ridden by apprentice Tim Bell, starting with Just Been Lucky (4 m Encosta de Lago – Royal Sash, by Royal Academy) who won the $45,000 Madison Cleaning Services Handicap over 1200m and Miss Cutie (5 m Street Cry – Lillymay, by Grand Lodge) in the $45,000 Herston Smash Repair Handicap (1500m).

Shamardashing (5 g Shamardal – Beaux Art, by Nomrood) came right away at the end of the $50,000 St Margaret’s Anglican Girls Schools Handicap over 1820m to make it two on end. “Shamardashing has had a lot of runs this preparation and he’s holding his condition well,” Killion said. “He’s got a nice turn of foot but I’m not sure what the boss has planned for him.”

Killion was full of praise for the 18-year-old Bell. “He’s very mature for his age and he’s got a good work ethic,” Killion said. “More importantly he’s getting the results.”

Bell rejected a number of offers to link with some of Sydney’s bigger stables to ride for Patinack Farm.

“Things are going really well and we’re having a good run,” Bell said. “Since I’ve been with Patinack Farm I’ve had seven winners and hopefully there’s a lot more to come.”
