Patinack Farm has further displayed its commitment to the pursuit of excellence by completing the sale of the International Group 1 winner SUN CLASSIQUE in a private negotiation after the Australian-bred was passed-in as the last lot through the ring at Newmarket today. Patinack Stud Manager Ben Lawrence was underbidder at $1.95 million in the ring and after further negotiation this evening agreement has been reached to buy Sun Classique for $2 million and the six year-old is now the proud property of Patinack.

Sun Classique was a champion in South Africa and in the UAE, winning four times at Group 1 level including the Dubai Sheema Classic.  Seven of her nine wins are at stakes level and she displayed her class by winning from 1200 to 2400m.

“She really is a jewel in the crown and clearly we valued her accordingly,” Patinack General Manager Rick Connolly explained. “She is by emerging broodmare sire Fuji Kiseki, her dam is by champion broodmare sire Last Tycoon and her granddam Gamine won the South Australian Oaks, so she has everything in her favour to become an elite broodmare.”

“The Oasis Dream covering was also a big plus for us. He’s one of the best young stallions in Europe and the foal will be bred on the same cross as last Saturday’s AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Yosei, so we are understandably very much looking forward to her first foal.”
