Patinack Farm’s pursuit of excellence continued at the Australian Easter Broodmare Sale today when the Thousand Guineas (Gr 1) winner SERIOUS SPEED was purchased for $900,000 in foal to Al Maher.

Serious Speed is by the internationally proven Group 1 sire Royal Academy (USA) and won five races and earned $967,490. She is a sister to the winner Regal Flute, herself the dam of this season’s Edward Manifold Stakes (Gr 2) winner Majestic Music, a daughter of Al Maher, so Serious Speed’s first foal will be a three-quarter relation to a Group 2 winner.

“Serious Speed is a quality racemare and we are delighted to have added her to the Patinack Farm broodmare band,” Nathan Tinkler explains. “She is a Group 1 winner, by an internationally proven Group 1 sire and from a family that is very current.”
