The highly rated dual Group 1 winning European galloper Lope De Vega (Ire) has been purchased by Patinack Farm to stand the 2011 Southern Hemisphere Season alongside the farms quality line-up of Stallions at it’s Richmond Grove property in Sandy Hollow, NSW Australia.

A son of Shamardal (USA), Lope De Vega (Ire) a winner of four races from nine starts including the Longchamp Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Group 1) over 1600m and the Chantilly Prix du Jockey Club (Group 1) over 2100m was purchased from Dietrich von Boetticher of Germany by a Patinack Farm led consortium and will include the Southern Hemisphere Standing Rights to the Stallion.

Patinack Farm’s Chairman Nathan Tinkler said ‘We are so excited to be standing the best performed son of Shamardal. A winner of two Classic Races, his win in the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club was simply electrifiying. We have had enormous success racing Shamardal stock and know the breed well. We look forward to the opportunity of giving Australian Breeders the chance to breed to this outstanding young stallion’

Lope De Vega (Ire) will stand his first Northern Hemisphere Season at Ballylinch Stud, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland in 2011.
