Inadequate in line for Bonus
Patinack Farm has enjoyed great success with the offspring of Shamardal (USA) and they have a promising juvenile by Shamardal’s barnmate in Dubawi (Ire), the sire of today’s promising juvenile winner Inadequate, who posted an impressive score at Canterbury.
Buried away in the pack turning for home, Inadequate lengthened beautifully once he found some running room and sprinted hard to win going away by a length and quarter at the end of the 1100m.
Inadequate had shown plenty of ability when placed behind Chance Bye in his first preparation and trainer John Thompson is hoping that there is more prizemoney to be won.
“He’s always been a quality colt and had to chase a good one last time in Chance Bye,” Thompson explained. “We thought he may need the run, but there was good pace and Peter Robl rode a beautiful race to get him home.”
Inadequate is yet another Patinack Farm yearling purchase to have found the winners’ circle. The bay sold for $70,000 at the 2009 Inglis Classic Sale and is a half-brother to the good mare Ain’t Seen Nothin’.
Inadequate is set to make the most of the Inglis bonus scheme according to his trainer. “There is an Inglis bonus race at Rosehill on Saturday week so he’ll head towards that.”
