The Patinack Farm stable is in good form and hopes are high that the team can add further Group success in two states on Saturday.

Trusting, Gathering, Pane In the Glass and Win For Wilson should all be competitive at Rosehill while at Caulfield, Kneeling steps up to stakes level on just her third start.

Trusting (5 h Tale Of The Cat – Legible, by Zabeel) bids for back-to-back Group wins in the $200,000 Hill Stakes (Gr 2) over 2000m and will once again be ridden by Jo Moreira. Patinack Farm head trainer John Thompson is happy with the way Trusting has trained on since his strong win in the Chelmsford Stakes (Gr 2) at Warwick Farm. “He’s ready for it. It is not a big field and he has drawn out which suits him. He’s going very well, is happy and confident so we’re looking for a big run.”

Gathering (5 g Tale Of The Cat – Celebria, by Peintre Celebre) runs in the feature race of the day at Rosehill, the $350,000 George Main Stakes (Gr 1) over 1500m and Thompson suggests he is getting close to peak form. “He is still a bit gross but he’s come on well and will go forward. He goes best when allowed to roll along, it is a hard race but he’ll be in for a long way.”

Pane In The Glass (3 f Testa Rossa – Lyrics, by Bluebird) and More Bubbly (3 f More Than Ready – Special Cuvee, by Fasliyev) run in the $175,000 Tea Rose Stakes (Gr 2) over 1500m and Thompson is hoping Pane In The Glass can have more luck than her last start when she finished fourth in the Furious Stakes (Gr 2) after being forced to race wide all the way. “She was a bit unlucky last start, for sure, but she’s trained on well since and she is cherry ripe for Saturday.”

Win For Wilson (3 g Encosta de Lago – Mohave Dancer, by Fastnet Rock) runs along with Lieutenant Colonel (3 c Flying Spur – Regimental Gal, by General Nediym) in the $200,000 Gloaming Stakes (Gr 3). “Win For Wilson probably went a little too hard early last start and he’ll go forward again on Saturday, hopefully he can settle a bit better while Lieutenant Colonel is bred to be a sprinter but races like a 2400 metre horse so we shall see how he fares here.”

At Caulfield, Kneeling (3 f Encosta de Lago – Sunday Service, by Sunday Silence) runs in a very competitive looking $125,000 Thousand Guineas Prelude (Gr 3) over 1400m.
