Hippy is Happy
Patinack Farm’s Happy Hippy (3 f Shamardal – Springburn) stepped up to stakes class with a stylish win in this afternoon’s James H.B. Carr Stakes (Listed) over 1400m at Randwick. Enjoying a perfect ride from Stathi Katsidis, Happy Hippy raced in behind the leaders to the turn before coming through along the inside rail to run down race-favourite Shannara with stablemate So Anyway (General Nediym) running her usual honest race to take third, yet another stakes placing on her record.
The quality of Happy Hippy’s effort was evident in the time of 1:22.20 – a new race record.
Today is the second win from 12 starts for Happy Hippy who has also placed in a further five of her races and she has now bankrolled $137,535.
By the French Classic winner Shamardal, Happy Hippy is out of a half-sister to the Group 1 winning sprinter Notoire and the Listed winning filly Tempest Tost.
