Golden Day for Patinack Farm
The terrific run of form by Patinack Farm runners continued today in two states. At Doomben, Run For Levi stepped up to stakes class with a determined win in the Phoenix Slipper Stakes, registered as the Golden Stakes (Listed).
Always near the lead, Run For Levi (Hussonet) maintained the gallop in the straight and fought off all the challengers in the straight to score a brave win.
Run for Levi for sold as a foal at foot when his dam Madam Bligh was offered by Vinery Stud at the 2008 National Broodmare Sale. A 10-time winner and half sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Spark of Life, Madam Bligh was purchased by Patinack Farm for $340,000.
Since being sold, Madam Bligh has increased her value by producing the South African stakes performer and multiple winner Anaboo.
Run for Levi, ridden to victory by Nash Rawiller for John Thompson, has now won two of his six starts and he looks to have an extremely bright future.
Meanwhile, Madam Bligh has a weanling colt by Patinack Farm’s exciting young sire Casino Prince and she was served last spring by Redoute’s Choice.
Further south at Randwick, Readyor, another sales purchase by Patinack, showed she was still very competitive by winning her first start for John Thompson since being purchased for $520,000 at the Easter Broodmare Sale in Sydney in April.
Readyor (3 f More Than Ready – Satyric, by Danehill) showed plenty of spirit in the straight to come through between foes and score a strong win in the $70,000 Golden Doe Handicap over 1200m.
