Onetimeatbandcamp (5 g Fastnet Rock – American Pie, by Unbridled’s Song) scored the biggest win of his career to date when he scored a strong win in the Marriott Magic Millions Country Cup (1400m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Onetimeatbandcamp enjoyed a lovely run under Tim Bell, poised to challenge once heads turned for home and then ran on strongly to score by three quarters of a length.

“We aimed the horse at this race a while back – it’s nice for a plan to come off,” trainer John Thompson said. “We originally planned to come into this race first up, but he’d just done so well and he trialled well so we gave him a run at the Sunshine Coast (where he ran second).”

“The run was good. It got his fitness up and had him pretty well spot on for today. He’ll keep ticking over. He’s racing well. He’s a big bugger so hopefully we might be able to stretch him out a bit as well.”

“It was a good honest win,” Bell said. “We wanted to lay out a bit at the end but he’s done a great job today.”
