Patinack Farm’s new state-of-the art complex at Canungra is already paying dividends with the victory of Crown Of Coureuse (2 f Beautiful Crown – Coureuse, by – Tierce) in Saturday evening’s $75,000 Fitton Insurance Hopeful Plate (1000m) at Toowoomba’s Clifford Park, the first juvenile race of the new season.

Crown Of Coureuse came with a big finish in the straight to overwhelm race-favourite Canningly to win going away by a widening three and a quarter lengths in a performance that hints at more to come.

Stable foreman Chris Hull said head trainer John Thompson has the facilities at their base at southeast Queensland to trial their own horses.

“We can trial at our place which is great,” he said, adding that her preparation at Canungra gave a good indication of what she could do. “She’s a very sensible filly. She was only beaten by a length and a half in the trial in Toowoomba last week, and she learned from the experience.”

Beautiful Crown (USA) remains one of the best value stallions for breeders at Patinack Farm Hunter Valley in New South Wales at $16,500 (inc GST). They can run and they can earn money. Tough, genuine and versatile are hallmarks of Beautiful Crown’s offspring and his consistent record at stud has justifiably made him a leading revenue earner for breeders as part of the BOBS Scheme.
