The offspring of Casino Prince are racing to good effect and he added another winner courtesy the runaway filly Princess Royale (2 f Casino Prince – Charybdis, by Royal Academy), who won most impressively on debut over 900 metres at South Australia’s main meeting on Australia Day at Murray Bridge.

Breaking sharply, Princess Royale sped to the lead early and opened up a four length break into the straight, an advantage she had no trouble in maintaining to the line, eventually defeating Flying Skipper (Danerich) eased down by three-lengths.

Trained by Tony McEvoy at his Kildalton Park complex in Angaston, Princess Royale sold for $85,000 as a yearling at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale in 2011. Judging by her easy win on Thursday there are plenty more wins ahead for the bay, bred by Freer Pty Ltd.

Group 1 winner Casino Prince, a son of Golden Slipper winner and champion sire Flying Spur, is in the top 10 first-season sires in Australia by earnings, the list headed by his Patinack Farm stablemate, the unbeaten classic winner Husson (Hussonet), with four winners from just 11 runners.
