Raheeb sat on the speed throughout before dashing clear in the straight and winning in brilliant style holding a two and three quarter length margin over stablemate Rightfully Yours ($6), while early leader Dr Doute's ($9-$12) held on for third, a further three parts of a length back.

Raced by Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm outfit, Raheeb is beautifully bred.

"I would really love to win a Group One with him. He deserves a home at stud - he's such a magnificent type." said trainer Mick Price.

Since joining the Price stable in Melbourne, Raheeb has shown plenty of ability.

"I've had a good opinion of him for a fair while. He's been going really well."

We ran him in that 1400 metre Group One, the Rupert Clarke, and he got beaten a length and a half (when fifth at his last start)."

"He's a six-year-old stallion and he's taken a bit of racing. Just look at what he did to them today."

"He's had a couple of runs and he's hard fit. He's a really nice horse."

He was purchased for just $90,000 from the draft of Vinery Stud at the 2005 Magic Millions Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast.

Raheeb has earned over $330,000 from just 20 starts, and has won or placed in no fewer than seven stakes races.
