Patinack Farm is proud to be associated with the sponsorship of the Patinack Farm Classic (Gr 1), won at Flemington last Saturday in dazzling style by the Grahame Begg trained All Silent. In what was undoubtedly one of the highlights of a memorable four days racing at the Spring Carnival, All Silent sizzled over the 1200m in 1:08.78, coming from last to first in the space of 400m, flying through his final 400m in 21.71 seconds. RAHEEB'S FLEMINGTON COMEBACK
Monday 5 October 2009
Enigmatic Royal Academy (USA) entire Raheeb scored a dashing win in the listed Paris Lane Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday 3 October. Raheeb sat on the speed throughout before dashing clear in the straight and winning in brilliant style holding a two and three quarter length margin over stablemate Rightfully Yours ($6), while early leader Dr Doute's ($9-$12) held on for third, a further three parts of a length back. Raced by Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm outfit, Raheeb is beautifully bred.
"I would really love to win a Group One with him. He deserves a home at stud - he's such a magnificent type." said trainer Mick Price. Since joining the Price stable in Melbourne, Raheeb has shown plenty of ability. "I've had a good opinion of him for a fair while. He's been going really well." We ran him in that 1400 metre Group One, the Rupert Clarke, and he got beaten a length and a half (when fifth at his last start)." "He's a six-year-old stallion and he's taken a bit of racing. Just look at what he did to them today." "He's had a couple of runs and he's hard fit. He's a really nice horse."
BREEDERS PLATE TO TEAM PATINACK
Saturday 3 October 2009
Precocious speed is paramount in Australian racing today and Patinack Farm already have Murtajill (Rock Of Gibraltar), winner of the 2006 Breeders Plate in, on their stallion roster. This magnificent grey has understandably attracted a high-class book of mares in his first-season at stud and he has let down into an imposing specimen. No wonder then the sense of excitement that greeted the runaway win of Run For Wilson in the 2009 renewal. Coming with a big run in the straight to win going away, Run For Wilson is already a shrewd bit of business by Patinack, having purchased him as a yearling for just $22,500 at the Melbourne Premier Sale and already having earned $60,000 plus the prestige of a major race on his CV. Apart from his physique, part of the attraction for buying Run For Wilson as a yearling was the promise being shown by Patinack’s Marquardt, also a daughter of Shamardal (USA).
TRUSTING BEATS THE ODDS
Saturday 22 August 2009
Superstar is how Chris Munce described Trusting after the three-year-old took out the Group II Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. Trusting was having only his third start and he joins the likes of the great Lonhro as a three-year-old winner of the time honoured race. Read Story
TRUST US, HE'S GOOD
SYDNEY - Patinack Farm unearthed a genuine spring prospect today at Canterbury when the well-bred Trusting staged a phenomenal debut win.
The handsome Tale of the Cat colt essentially circled the big field from the 600m onwards passing horses at will. Trusting's momentum carried him to the lead midway up the straight from which point he set up a two-length winning margin. Trusting was purchased by Patinack Farm at the New Zealand Premier Yearling Sale for $300,000 in 2008. His dam, Legible (by Zabeel), was trained by Mick Price to win five races including the Sandown Classic - G2 and amassed over $500,000 in stakes.
Saturday 18 July 2009
SYDNEY - Progressive two-year-old filly Schipper made the quantum leap from provincial maiden class to open metro company when ploughing through the heavy to score her second win in as many starts today at Rosehill. The daughter of Elusive Quality and stakes-placed Salieri mare, Victory River, upset her more fancied rivals in the N & A Group Handicap starting $17.
Trainer Jason Coyle revealed that Schipper had been an immature filly who had taken a lot of work to get where she has. Her sectionals at Kembla were very good but it is always a big step up to city class and we weren't sure how she'd handle it,'' Coyle said. "She's not big but she's got a lot of ticker''.
Schipper was bought for $190,000 at the 2008 Melbourne Premier Yearling. The filly is a half-sister to Oakleigh Plate - G1 winner Reactive and Caulfield stakeswinner Fleischer (dam of Roubechon).
I NEED TO FLY WINS FOR PATINACK
Wednesday 15 July 2009
SALE - I Need to Fly, one of the most admired lots at last year's Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, notched a valuable city win when she rocketed home to win the Cecil Godby 2YO Handicap (1410m) at the MRC meeting at Sale today. An athletic grey filly, I Need to Fly (Blevic x Sunday Shoes (Kenvain)) is raced by Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm operation after being purchased for $105,000 from the draft of Kambula Stud at last year's Morphettville based Adelaide sale.
At her third career start I Need to Fly did fly, came from well back in the field under Craig Newitt to win in impressive fashion. She drew ordinary and I was always going to ride her quiet," Newitt commented. "There was a genuine speed during the race and from the 600 (metre mark) I was always pretty confident."
Newitt said he and trainer Mick Price have been impressed with how the bright prospect has continued to improve after each start. "She keeps going forward. From her first run she's been racing a lot from tractable. She's a horse that will certainly get over further ground."
INTERSTATE DOUBLE FOR PATINACK
Thursday 9 July 2009
HAWKESBURY - Patinack Farm gallopers notched a quick fire interstate double when Pacific Highway scored a strong win in the National Australia Bank Plate (1600m).
A $51,000 buy at the 2007 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Pacific Highway finished too well for his rivals over the concluding stages of the event to win in great style. Stable rider Peter Robl got plenty out of the Giant's Causeway gelding as the whips were cracking in the straight.
Saturday 20 June 2009
BRISBANE - Siblings Subtle Cove and Soiled nearly pulled off a rare double-play for Patinack Farm resident broodmare Subtle Miss as the marathon Brisbane carnival came to a close today.
Subtle Cove, the daughter of Mull Of Kintrye, added a G1 placing to her G2 status finishing third in the 1600m Winter Stakes. Shortly after, it was left to her older (half) brother Soiled to end proceedings with a bold win in the Listed Centenary Classic Mile – his eight career win from 22 starts.
Both horses were bred by Les and Nathan Tinkler. Subtle Miss was covered by Patinack Farm foundation stallion Casino Prince last season.
THE TIDE IS HIGH
Wednesday 10 June 2009
The filly was claimed for just $60,000 at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. Her dam, So Explicit, was a talented 2YO herself and finished second to former star Kiwi juvenile Alf in their version of the Magic Millions. Morning Swim is bred on the same Zabeel/Straight Strike cross which produced the champion galloper Lonhro and his triple G1 winning brother Niello.
SHREWD RETURN
Monday 8 June 2009
MELBOURNE - Gifted sprinter Shrewd Rhythm burst back into the winners stall for the first time since claiming the Listed Vain Stakes as 3YO courtesy of a barnstornming finish at Moonee Valley today. The son of Danehill Dancer was having his first run for of Mick Price who watched on as the 4YO entire bounded away with the 1000m Open Handicap.
Shrewd Rhythm's return to form is a welcome reminder for joint owners including Lindsay Park and Patinack Farm of how talented this horse can be. The win was all the more satisfying for Patinack given that the dam, Balcanny, resides at its Aberdeen facility. Patinack Farm sold a Fastnet Rock half-brother to Shrewd Rhythm and his G2 winning sibling Blur at the MM National Weanling Sale for $200,000.
PORSCHED - A FLYING MACHINE
Monday 8 June 2009
MELBOURNE - Patinack Farm's long weekend of winners stretched to holiday Monday and an impressive debut win from the well-bred Porsched. The Mick Price trained colt stretched out nicely over the concluding stages to set up a 4.5 length margin in the MVRC Arrow Training Services Handicap (1200m). Porsched is a son of Dehere from the stakes-placed Cozzene mare, Casigris. Patinack Farm paid $150,000 for the grey colt at the 2008 Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
STAR MARE DOES IT AGAIN
Saturday 6 June 2009
SYDNEY - Last Tycoon mare Lady Capel could be in line to add a third stakes winner to her C.V should her Encosta de Lago son Tagus continue his rapid ascent. Tagus is part owned by Nathan Tinkler and Gerry Harvey and yesterday completed a hat-trick of wins when forging clear of the others in the AJC Jim Beam Handicap at Randwick. The Wayne Wilkes-trained gelding's previous wins were by 5.8L at Taree before a successful trip to Rosehill on May 20. Tagus is the fifth foal from Lady Capel whose earlier offspring include G1 winner and Patinack Farm foundation sire, Casino Prince, and the middle-distance type Lord of the Land.
This extraordinary family is also that of Onemorenomore who proved far too good for Tickets and Manhattan rain in April's AJC Champagne Stakes - G1.
PATINACK FARM'S SUPER SEASON ROLLS ON
“We looked at the race and knew there would be no speed so we decided to ride her closer than we did in the Sires Produce,” Robl said. “She actually went better than we thought she would. We would have been over the moon if she had have run a good fourth or fifth.”
Winning trainer Jason Coyle was quick to praise Robl’s ride, adding Linky Dink had improved rapidly since arriving at Patinack Farm’s Gold Coast stables. “It’s just outstanding to win this,” Coyle said. “Pete rode her great and she’s done really well since she got up here.”
Robl said he had no doubt Linky Dink could win an Oaks during her three-year-old season but said the AJC Oaks would be more likely than a VRC Oaks win.
LINKY DINK GIVES TINKLER ANOTHER MAJOR
Saturday 6 June 2009
BRISBANE - Patinack Farm's second two-year-old Group One winner this season, Linky Dink, delivered a $58 dividend to Tote punters and a potential spring classic contender for owner Nathan Tinkler. Even though the filly had finished beyond midfield in her two lead-up races, both trainer Jason Coyle and jockey Peter Robl were confident of a forward showing in yesterday's G1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1600m) at Eagle Farm.
"All her runs have been aiming towards the mile, we got that today and she showed what she can do and Peter rode her great,'' said Coyle.
The victory coincided with Robl's first win at the venue. "We've always had a big opinion of Linky Dink,'' the jockey said. "She got a long way back last start, but it wasn't as bad as it looked on paper. I was happy to come up and ride her.''
Linky Dink was bred by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand. Patinack Farm spent $250,000 on the Keeper - Gimmick (by Sir Tristram) filly at the 2008 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka. Linky Dink will now be spelled with an aim to the spring classic and hopefully emulate two of her Guineas winning relations - Sale Of Century (Rosehill Guineas) and Kiwi Hero who won the NZ 2000 Guineas.
HAT-TRICK UP FOR TAGUS

BRAVEHEART
Saturday 6 June 2009
SLEEK MACHINE
Saturday 6 June 2009
"That was a really, really impressive win,'' Price said. To sit outside the leader and win by four lengths over 1200m uphill in the straight on a heavy track at his first start is indicative of a good horse.''
JUST REWARD FOR SOILED
Saturday 30 May 2009
BRISBANE - Consistent gelding Soiled broke through for a well earned stakes triumph when scoring a dashing all-the-way win in today's Sir Edward Williams Handicap at Eagle Farm. Soiled's victory came despite the obvious disadvantage of drawing the outside barrier 19, horse and jockey clear by one-and-a-half lengths at the finish.
Soiled, a son of Brazilian champion Sandpit, was bred by father/son pair Les and Nathan Tinkler from their Nadeed mare Subtle Miss. Her mating to former Coolmore resident Mull Of Kintyre produced G2 Sunline Stakes winner Subtle Cove.
GREAT RUN BY NAARA
Saturday 16 May 2009
Run For Naara's effort to beat the colts and geldings sees her join previous race winners like Apache Cat, Ambulance and 1996 Caulfield Cup winner Arctic Scent. Run For Naara (By More Than Ready) was purchased for $150,000 at the 2008 Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is one of three stakeswinners from her dam, Kristopher Street (USA).
PATINACK GALLOPERS STAND UP
Saturday 9 May 2009
HAWKESBURY - Honest gelding Soiled will back-up in Friday's $110,000 Scone Cup after scoring a comfortable win at today's stand-alone meeting at Hawkesbury. His 1.8L victory was the sixth for the six-year-old son of Brazilian import Sandpit bred by Patinack farm principal Nathan Tinkler and his father Les.
Meanwhile, a trip to Brisbane is on the cards for Fusiachi Pegasus 3YO Rollins who staged a bold return to form in the Listed Hawkesbury Guineas. Rated perfectly by Peter Robl, Rollins stuck to his guns when beating all bar Related in the 1400m feature. Patinack Farm Racing Manager Mark Webbey said that the colt's main goal in Brisbane this winter is the Queensland Guineas G2 on June 6.
GROUP 1 GLORY FOR PATINACK FARM
Saturday 25 April 2009
An emphatic Group 1 win today for the Patinack Farm Team after Onemorenomore devastated his blueblood rivals in the Champagne Stakes at Randwick. Racing much closer to the speed today than he did in last Saturday’s Sires’ Produce S. G1, Onemorenomoreunleashed his impressive turn of foot to put four lengths on his rivals from the 200m.
An $800,000 purchase at the 2008 William Inglis Easter Yearling Sale the handsome Red Ransom colt is from AJC Emancipation S. G3 winner PALIA, a full sister to Lady Capel, the dam of Patinack Farm’s very own exciting young sire CASINO PRINCE.Stable Jockey Peter Robl said “A wonderful thrill. I must thank the whole Patinack team for the opportunities I’ve been given and it’s onwards and upwards from here. This horse is going to be something special as a three-year-old.”
The win is the first Group 1 of the season for Patinack Farm and the first Group 1 for private trainer Jason Coyle. Nathan Tinkler commented “This race marked the focal point of a well thought out campaign by the Patinack team. Onemorenomore has had a meticulous preparation and he was bought with a future in the breeding barn in mind. We are strong believers in this family as he is closely related to our foundation sire Casino Prince and this result reflects the patience and professionalism that Rick and Jason and the team have shown. They have given the horse a meticulous preparation and achieved the enviable task of winning a time honoured Group 1 race as a 2yo with a superbly bred colt.”
PLENTY MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM
Wednesday 1 April 2009
SYDNEY - Well-bred colt Onemorenomore emerged a serious challenger for the last two legs of the Juvenile Triple Crown following his thrilling win in the T. L Baillieu Handicap (1400m) at Randwick. Patinack Farm's $800,000 Easter Yearling had twice placed at stakes level in the Breeders Plate and Silver Slipper prior to today's breakthrough win. Previous winners of the Baillieu include John Hawkes pair Mentality and Paratroopers.
Onemorenomore is from the G3 Emancipation Stakes winner Palia, herself a sister to the dam of Patinack Farm foundation sire Casino Prince.
MIXED FORTUNES FOR PATINACK RUNNERS AFTER DRAW
Tuesday 31 March 2009
PATINACK Farm fillies Marquardt and So Anyway have drawn barriers 16 and 7 respectively in Saturday's $3.5 million AAMI Golden Slipper Stakes. With the two emergencies out, Marquardt will come in to gate 14 while So Anyway jumps from the five alley.
"Marquardt drew 16 of 16 in the Magic Night and nearly won, she'll get back anyway,'' Patinack Farm Racing Manager Rick Connolly said. "If the rain comes as expected, horses tend to stay off the fence which evens things out a lot anyway.'' Connolly added that So Anyway was ideally suited drawn close and should be able to capitalise on her tactical speed.
MARQUARDT AND SO ANYWAY TO REPRESENT PATINACK IN SLIPPER
Monday 30 March 2009

Both fillies are trained at Warwick Farm by Jason Coyle, 30, who will become the youngest trainer to win a Golden Slipper capping off a meteoric rise for the Newcastle-born handler.
"It is our plan to have runners in major races like the Golden Slipper but to achieve it this early in our first year is very exciting,'' Patinack Farm Racing Manager Rick Connolly said. And for Jason, coming from (training) 20 horses to 100 in three or four months - his achievement as a trainer has to be applauded.''

Saturday 7 March 2009
MELBOURNE - LESS than two weeks ago Patinack Farm-owned colt Gathering ran second on debut in a Wyong Maiden. Today, he finished third in the G2 VRC Sires' Produce Stakes behind glamour filly Rostova.
"We sent this horse to Wyong as a confidence booster and although he was beaten he ran very well. We knew we had a horse on our hands and the Sires' had always been in the back of our minds since he came in this campaign,'' racing manager Rick Connolly said.
"Gathering will come back to Sydney now and depending on how he pulls up, we'll be looking to contest other black-type races with his this autumn. He could be a super three-year-old in the spring.''

Saturday 28 February 2009
MELBOURNE - EXCEED and Excel colt Abeyant could easily represent Patinack Farm in this years' VRC Sires' Produce Stakes after a closing second in Saturday's rich 1200m Inglis Premier at Caulfield.
The Jason Coyle-trained bay has only two behind him turning for home unfurling a powerful finish to get within a length of the winner. Abeyant has made significant progress in his three starts having won a Maiden Plate at Newcastle on debut albeit in most impressive circumstances.
Speaking of Newcastle, Saturday's meeting saw Fusiachi Pegasus three-year-old Rollins make a triumphant return to the winner's circle. ROBL RETURNS TO WINNER'S CIRCLE
Wednesday 25 February 2009

Laura's Charm was covered by Casino Prince in 2008 as was Subtle Cove's dam, Subtle Miss.
MARQUARDT VALIANT IN DEFEAT
Saturday 14 February 2009
SYDNEY - TALENTED filly Marquardt lost no admirers finishing third in the prestigious Widden Stakes at Randwick today. The filly was sent out $2.90 favourite in the Listed event against a number of other Golden Slipper hopefuls.
"She was in a good spot and travelling nicely until she was checked and was shuffled back,'' Patinack Farm Racing Manager Rick Connolly said. She picked herself up in mid straight but the bird had flown by then but she really stretched out over the last 100m and hit the line well. Looking at her pedigree, we've always thought that she'd be at her best as a three-year-old over a bit of ground, so whatever she is doing now is a bonus.''
