Patinack off to a flyer in Singapore

Sydney, Monday January 11, 2010: Patinack Farm got off to a flyer in Singapore last Friday when its first runner scored an impressive win in a $55,000 Class 4 race over 1200m.

There was a good buzz about ABEYANT beforehand and the three-year-old son of Exceed And Excel did not disappoint for trainer Cliff Brown.

Judging by the way Abeyant outclassed the opposition in the $55,000 Class 4 Division 1 race over 1200m, scoring by three lengths in the time of 1:10.30 seconds, the now distinctive blue, green and yellow Patinack Farm colours can make more headlines in this region.

“He picked up really well and won convincingly.  I am really happy with this win,” Brown said later. “He’s probably looking for something longer – 1400m to 1600m.”

Abeyant won on debut at Newcastle over 900m before being tried in Group company in Melbourne and Sydney before he was transferred to Singapore.

Patinack Farm also has Feared (More Than Ready – Merlene) with Brown and the three-year-old gelding is pleasing his trainer. “He came with Abeyant but was three weeks behind,” said Brown. “He’s in work now and should have his debut very soon.”
